The rebranding intervention at Nissan’s Headquarters in Capena, the central office of Nissan Italia, was a strategic project to reinforce the brand identity and optimize the site’s visual communication. The update involved the entire external signage system, replacing existing signs with new high-impact visual elements seamlessly integrating with the building’s architecture.
Planning and Coordination
The planning phase required an in-depth analysis of the existing conditions, carefully assessing the best methods for removing current structures and the most effective installation techniques for the new elements. This ensured an optimized intervention that seamlessly aligned with the existing structure.
Visotec, a certified supplier for Nissan Europe, handled the signage production, while Progim Sign managed the site operations and installation, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and a well-organized execution.
Installation Activities
The project involved the complete replacement of the existing signage with:
- A new totem, custom-sized and color-matched for the Capena site.
- Nissan channel letters, installed on the facade of the main building.
- Support paneling, designed to integrate the channel letters perfectly with the existing structure.
The paneling, divided into multiple sections to facilitate installation, was assembled on-site and precisely secured to the structure.
Administrative Management and Compliance
The administrative procedures were managed by Studio Idea, Nissan Italia’s reference architectural firm, overseeing the authorization process, which was essential due to the building’s proximity to the highway. While the bureaucratic process required extended timelines, it ensured all necessary approvals for the rebranding.
During the installation phases, a Nissan representative was on-site to oversee operations and validate compliance with the required brand standards.
Final Outcome and Client Evaluation
The project resulted in a significant improvement in the visibility of Nissan Headquarters, with signage that is well-integrated into the structure and fully aligned with the brand’s visual guidelines. The client expressed satisfaction with the project management and the attention to detail in the installation execution.
